Religious books are the one which tell us about our customs and tradition, they are the one who tell us how thing should be done in a proper way so that nobody is hurt throughout the process. Basically such books are written by religious scholars and leaders of the particular religion. There are many religious books in India; in fact we have books based on almost all of the religion in world, as we believe that all religions are equal and should be equally treated and respected. One of such famous religious books is ‘Mahabharata’, this book is biased on some incidents took place in India, the time these incidents took place is much before India was divided, in fact even before we even knew that are some more countries in world other than ours. Mahabharata illustrates the story of the Kurus and the Pandavas, and there dynastic struggle. According to some experts this is the longest Indian Epic that has even been written. The book was originally written in Sanskrit language though later on it was translated into many languages. Some people say that no other language than Sanskrit holds the beauty of its religious and spiritual awakening.
This book contains about 100,000 stanzas, and it’s not easy even for the experts to put a play on the story within three hours. Yet, it still happened! A team of 20 were able to put up a show for the audience. It took less than three hours which is regarded has a great achievement. Some of the main characters in the book are Draupadi, lord Krishna (Lord of the Universe), Dorna (Shakuni) and Yudhistira. Many foreign readers have also found this book interesting, since it depicts the culture and the Hindu mythology. There can be many differences in opinions after reading the book, but this one has brought to the limelight the culture that prevails in India even now.
All in the end every book holds a story of its own and to know that story we have to read it and not only reading would do but also we should analyze that from all possible point of view.
